RUTH’S STORY is an illustrated art book of our mother’s written memories, about the dust storms, drought, and growing up during the Depression in Nora and Ruskin, Nebraska.
 
Our mother wrote these stories while she could still remember them, and beginning in 2015, I illustrated them in scratchboard, somewhat reminiscent of Depression-era woodblock prints. There are twelve illustrations in this title. This book is Part I of Ruth’s Story where she tells of a dust storm experience, walking home from school with her brother to a farmhouse south of Nora, Nebraska.
